Voice to the Village

Here’s some of the highlights since our last letter.

September

The first of September, I had a request from our new missionaries in Emmonak to come and help Austin “catch a moose”. We had success, with sore muscles and lots of meat to prove it.
Part of Danean’s family came to visit. We had a great time visiting, sightseeing and fishing. (We even caught some.)
Danean and I made a 3 day trip to Kansas to attend Grandpa Alva’s funeral. He had lived a long full life and at 96 was ready to go home to be with Jesus.

October

In October, I traveled back to Shaktoolik, one of our outreach sites. They had not been able to connect to streaming services. We resolved the problem with their Internet service and they are back online.

On Sunday morning after I preached, God revealed to me that someone was having problems with their left eye. Rhoda responded and was instantly healed. Praise God for His healing touch.
Also in October, we attended the Fall Youth Convention in Anchorage. God is moving powerfully in our youth!

The end of the month we had the privilege of taking part in a joint missions banquet. Three churches in Anchorage got together and we had a great time. I love to talk about what God is doing in Alaska. (Danean tells me that I love it a little to much!)

November

The first week in November, I attended the Western Section Camp Meeting in Bethel.

We broadcast the services live on the Internet for those not able to attend in person. I spent the following week making DVD’s and archiving all the files on the web. You can view any of the services from our Podcast. We mailed out DVD’s to all the churches in the Western Section as well. Next, I’m working on encoding Flash.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, I flew to Dillingham.

Pastors Debbie and Dave Milligan are getting ready to hook up their church to stream live services. Several villages in the Bristol Bay region do not have pastors and some are even without churches. Once they are streaming, villages with high speed Internet can connect to Anchor of Hope’s services.

Next

From now to the end of the year, we are planning a trip to Oklahoma to attend a niece’s wedding, return and visit with the leaders in Point Hope, and do some fill in preaching for pastors that are traveling out to the lower 48.
